Absolutely cannot beat the price for this park! Spot was pretty level. Long enough for truck and travel trailer but not much else. Our spot (E2) was a very tight turn. Dinosaur tracks are very cool. Bath facilities were decent. Incredibly dark skies for stargazing if you're interested in that. Saw some pronghorn antelope on the drive out.

Hidden gem outside of Clayton NM. Prices for daily parking is about 5.00 to visit the Dino tracks. It’s a 1/2 mile walk to the site and back. On a hill, but easy to walk. Lake is clean and beautiful

We decided to stop here on our way up to CO to see the dinosaur tracks and they were actually really awesome. Luckily we went after it had been raining a lot so they were the most visible but we did hear that when it's been really dry, sometimes the dirt slightly covers them so you can't seem them as clearly. Either way, the park has a nice set up with a wooden pathway to walk through and information along the way. Definitely worth it if you're in the area or wanting to go camp and spend some time. The park itself is also gorgeous so I wish we could've been there an entire day but the couple of hours we did make it was completely worth it!

Wonderful experience! The trail to the dinosaur footsteps is well maintained and only 1/4 mile. Pretty view of the lake with lots of large fish jumping! The campground is small and the sites are very close together. However, it was a very quiet evening. Would definitely go back!

We had a good time walking the park, looking at the tracks, watching the deer. The night was overcast so we didnt get to go to the star pavilion. Staff is very friendly and helpful, fishing looked to be great!

I really enjoyed this campsite by the lake! Beautiful lakeviews right beside the RV park as well as a quarter mile hiking trail over to the dinosaur tracks area. Dog friendly as long as they're on a leash. Nice and quiet off the beaten path away from town. Hookups included. Power and water. No dump site available. They did have restrooms on site. If I'm ever in this area again I will come back to this campground.. Enjoy!

We came across the border into New Mexico and decided to camp for a few days. Used Google maps and saw that Clayton Lake was close. At first on the way there, I didnt think I was on the right road. Very few signs. We came upon the entrance and could not believe our eyes. This is a hidden oasis! We could not believe our eyes. The state rangers were all very nice and accomadating. Everyone in the park was friendly and very polite. Kids in other camps seem to have a great time as well. The park has showers, bathrooms, water and electrical spots, and your more rustic sites. Every site we looked at had fantastic view. And I mean just phenominal... I suggest that anyone close or even far, should go to Clayton Lake State Park! You will be very happy you did. Promise you!
